Golf Tournament Shirts

Custom golf tournament shirts for charity tournaments, company outings and member-guest events. Olive Branch Apparel embroiders and prints player polos, volunteer tees and hats from our shop in Fort Collins, Colorado, and ships them across the United States.

Golf outing shirts usually come as one order with several parts, a polo for every player, a bright tee for volunteers and a few hats for the committee. Design yours in the studio below and see your price as the field size changes.

Order Custom Golf Tournament Shirts Against Your Registration Deadline

The hardest part of a tournament shirt order is not the artwork. It is that you need sizes from players who have not signed up yet, and logos from sponsors who have not committed yet. Both lists keep moving until the week of the event, and the shirts cannot wait that long.

Solve it with two dates. The first is a shirt cutoff printed on the registration form, set earlier than the final registration deadline. Anyone who signs up before it gets the size they asked for. Anyone who signs up after it is promised a shirt from the extras, in the closest size available.

The second date is a sponsor art cutoff. Sponsor logos are the slowest thing an organizer collects, because the person who approved the sponsorship is rarely the person who has the file. Ask for the logo in the same email that confirms the sponsorship, and say plainly that marks arriving late will appear on signage but not on the shirt.

Then work backward. Standard turnaround is about 14 days from the day you approve the proof, and you want the box in hand before the day you assemble player gifts, not the morning of the shotgun start. Leave a few days between the cutoffs and the proof for chasing stragglers.

For the extras, order a small spread in the middle and larger sizes. A polo that is a little roomy still gets worn, and one that is tight goes in a drawer. Since there is no minimum order, a true shortfall can be filled with a few pieces after the event.

Put Players and Volunteers on One Order

Shared artwork across polos, tees and hats keeps the total count high, and a higher count is what lowers the per-piece price.

One Polo for a Late Entry

With no minimum order, a single polo for a player who registered late or a sponsor guest added that week is an ordinary request. Larger runs cost less per piece, but small ones are welcome.

Sponsors See It First

Your proof shows every logo in position on the shirt color you picked. Forward it to the title sponsor, collect a yes, and approve it knowing nothing gets made until you do.

A Number for the Committee

Change the quantity in the studio and the price updates live. Price the field you have and the field you hope for, then take a real figure to the budget meeting.

Sponsor Logos Cleaned Up

Sponsor art tends to arrive as a small web image or a photo of a business card. We clean up or redraw rough logos so each mark stitches and prints crisply.

Who Gets a Shirt at a Golf Outing

A tournament is rarely one shirt. Most events dress four groups, each with a different job for the garment, and running them on one order with shared artwork keeps the total count up and the per-piece price down.

Player Gifts

The polo in the player bag is the piece people judge the event by. Keep the logo small and tasteful, leave the year off the chest if you can, and it gets worn for seasons.

Volunteer Crew

Volunteers need to be found, not flattered. A bright cotton tee with the word Volunteer across the back does more than any logo when a player is looking for help.

Committee and Hosts

Organizers and sponsor representatives usually wear a polo in a different color from the field, so anyone with a question about pairings or rules knows who to walk toward.

Scramble Teams

Foursomes often want their own golf scramble shirts with a team name. Four matching pieces is a normal order here, and DTF handles a full-color joke logo without a setup for each color.

If the budget only stretches to one group, dress the volunteers first for a charity event and the players first for a company outing. The first keeps the day running, and the second is what colleagues remember.

Where Sponsor Logos Go on Golf Tournament Polos

Sponsors pay for visibility, and the instinct is to put all of them on the shirt. On a polo that instinct backfires. A chest crowded with marks looks like a race bib, and players quietly stop wearing it the day after the event. A polo carries one or two logos well and no more.

The usual arrangement is the event logo on the left chest and the title sponsor on a sleeve or the right chest. A back yoke placement, just below the collar, is another quiet spot for a single presenting sponsor. Everything else belongs somewhere built for a list.

That somewhere is the volunteer tee. The back of a cotton tee is a large flat area that takes a screen print well, so a block of hole sponsors and supporting sponsors fits there under the word Volunteer. Sponsors get seen all day by every group that passes a contest hole.

Method matters with sponsor art. Embroidery turns small type into thread, and thin taglines under a logo fill in or disappear at left chest size, so ask sponsors for the simplest version of their mark. A sheet of full-color sponsor logos on a tee is often cleaner in DTF, which prints every color at once.

Send each sponsor the proof before you approve it, and ask for a reply in writing. A logo stitched in the wrong color or an outdated mark is the kind of mistake that costs a renewal, and it takes one short email to prevent it.

Tee Time Already Booked

Send the event date, the field size and the sponsor list. If the timing is tight, ask, sometimes it can be done faster than the standard turnaround.

Fabric, Thread and Ink on Custom Golf Tournament Shirts

Most golf tournament shirts for players are polyester performance polos. They are light, they dry fast and they do not hold a crease after a morning in a cart. That same thin, stretchy knit is less forgiving than cotton, and it changes how a logo should be built.

Embroidery is the classic finish and the right call for most events. On a lightweight polo, a large or dense design can pull the fabric and pucker around the edges, so keep the event logo modest in size and open in its fills. Lettering needs to be big enough for thread to form the shapes.

Printing on polyester has its own trap. Dye from a strongly colored shirt, reds and maroons especially, can creep into the ink over time and tint a white logo. Ask us about the shirt color before you fall in love with it. A lighter polo sidesteps the problem and stays cooler in the sun.

Volunteer tees are simpler. A standard cotton tee takes screen printing ink well, a one color print keeps the cost down, and the per-piece price falls as the count rises. Pick a shirt color that will not match the player polo, so the two groups never get confused on the course.

One limit to know. We make polos, t-shirts, long sleeve tees, hoodies, hats and beanies. We do not make quarter-zip pullovers, wind jackets or rain gear, so if those are on your gift list, a polo and an embroidered hat are what we can add alongside them.

Questions Tournament Organizers Ask

Is there a minimum order for custom golf tournament shirts?

No. You can order one polo or outfit a full field with volunteers and committee. The per-piece price on custom golf tournament shirts drops as the quantity goes up, so combining players, volunteers and hats on one order is usually the best value. Late additions can be ordered a piece at a time afterward.

When should we order shirts for a tournament?

Standard turnaround is about 14 days from the day you approve the proof. Count back from the day you plan to assemble player gifts, then leave room before that for collecting sizes and sponsor logos. If your date is tight, ask. Sometimes it can be done faster, and we will tell you honestly either way.

How do we handle sizes when registration is still open?

Put a shirt size question on the registration form and print a shirt cutoff date beside it. Order exact sizes for everyone registered by then, plus a small spread of extras in the middle and larger sizes for late sign-ups. Anything you still lack can be ordered afterward, since there is no minimum.

Should golf tournament polos be embroidered or printed?

Embroidery is the traditional choice for a left chest logo on a polo and looks finished on performance fabric when the design is kept modest in size. DTF is worth considering when the logo has gradients or many colors that thread cannot hold. For custom golf tournament shirts given to volunteers, a screen printed cotton tee is the economical route.

How many sponsor logos can go on one shirt?

On a player polo, one or two beyond the event logo, typically on a sleeve, the right chest or the back yoke. More than that and the shirt stops being something people wear again. Longer sponsor lists fit well on the back of volunteer tees, where there is room to print them at a readable size.

Our sponsors sent low quality logos, can you still use them?

Usually, yes. Send what you have, even if it is a small web image or a scan. We clean up or redraw rough logos so they print and stitch well, and the proof shows the result before anything is made. A vector file such as an AI, EPS or PDF from the sponsor is always the best starting point.

Can we order different shirts for players and volunteers together?

Yes, and it is the common way to do it. Custom golf tournament shirts for players are usually polos, while volunteers wear tees in a brighter color with a back print. Sharing the event logo across both keeps the look consistent. Set the count for each group in the studio to see its price.

Do you ship to tournaments outside Colorado?

Yes. The shop is in Fort Collins, Colorado, and orders ship across the United States. Send the box to wherever the gift bags are being packed, not to the course on event morning. A person answers the phone on weekdays, 9am to 5pm Mountain, if you want to talk through timing or sponsor placement.
