Custom Farm Shirts and Hats
Custom farm shirts and embroidered hats for farms, ranches, orchards and the stands and market tables that sell what they grow. Olive Branch Apparel prints and stitches crew gear and farm apparel worth selling beside the produce.
The studio below opens on a mesh back trucker hat, because the hat is the piece a farm crew wears every day. Add your logo, set the quantity and see your price as you go. There is no minimum order, so one hat is a fine first run.
Design Your Farm Hats and Shirts Here
Put your farm name on a trucker hat, then build custom farm shirts to match. Change the quantity and the price updates live, so you can see what a dozen for the crew costs against a larger run for the farm stand shelf.
Start Your Farm Apparel with the Hat
A shirt gets worn once a week and then goes in the wash. A hat gets worn every day, in the field, at the feed store and at the market, until it falls apart. If you are only going to make one piece with the farm name on it, make it the hat.
Why the Hat Does the Work
Farm work happens in the sun, so nearly everyone on the place already wears a cap. A trucker hat with a mesh back breathes in the heat, adjusts with a snap to fit almost anyone and needs no size run. That makes it the easiest piece to order and the easiest to hand out.
It also suits a sales table. A customer who hesitates over picking a shirt size can choose a hat without trying anything on. It sits by the register, takes up little room and travels home with visitors from an orchard weekend or a pumpkin patch.
What Fits on a Front Panel
The front of a trucker hat gives you a space a few inches wide and not very tall. Embroidery thread is thicker than ink, so fine lines and small letters close up. A farm name, a simple mark and perhaps a town or a founding year is about the limit.
Detailed logos need adapting. A hand drawn barn with board lines, a full cattle scene or thin script lettering usually gets simplified to bold shapes for stitching. Ranch brands are the opposite case. A brand is already a bold, simple mark, and it stitches cleanly on a cap.
Once the hat version of the logo exists, it carries straight onto the left chest of a shirt or the front of a beanie at the same size. The full detailed artwork can still go large on the back of a tee, where ink has room to hold it.

Price Hats and Shirts in One Sitting
Set quantities in the studio and see your price for the crew order and the stand order as you build them. Nothing to fill in first, and no waiting to hear back.
One Hat Is Enough
There is no minimum order. Make a single hat to see how the logo stitches, then come back for more. The per-piece price falls as the quantity rises.
You Approve Every Design
A proof shows your logo on the hat or shirt with the thread or ink colors called out. Nothing is stitched or printed until you approve it.
Hand Painted Logos Welcome
A photo of the sign at the end of the lane is a fine starting point. We clean up or redraw it so it holds together in thread and ink.

When to Order Custom Farm Shirts and Hats
Farm apparel sells and gets worn in step with the growing year. Ordering to that rhythm matters more than it does for most businesses, because the weeks when customers arrive in numbers are the same weeks when nobody on the farm has time to think about shirts.
Order in late winter, while there is time to settle artwork. Allow about 14 days after proof approval so hats and tees are on the table for the first market.
Hats and light colored tees get worn hardest while the stand is busy. Watch which sizes and colors run low by midsummer and place a small order before they are gone.
Pick your own weekends, corn mazes and pumpkin season bring the biggest crowds many farms see. Hoodies and long sleeve tees suit the weather, and visitors like a keepsake from the day.
Hats, beanies and hoodies become gifts in early winter, alongside wreaths, trees and boxed goods. Order by the middle of fall so stock is ready well ahead of the rush.
A sensible pattern is one undated farm logo design kept in stock year round, with a hat always available, and seasonal garments added around it. With no minimum order, you can test a new color or a harvest design in a small batch before committing to more.
Thread, Ink and Fabric for Farm and Ranch Wear
Embroidery and screen printing behave differently, and farm logos tend to test both. Many farm marks began as a painted sign, a feed sack style illustration or a relative's sketch, full of texture that looks wonderful on a barn wall and needs translating for fabric.
Embroidery is the method for hats, beanies and polos. It holds up to sun, sweat and long wear without fading much. Its limit is detail. Lettering needs to be tall enough for the needle to form each letter, and shading has to become solid blocks of thread color.
Screen printing is the method for tees and hoodies. It lays down solid colors crisply and gets cheaper per piece as the run grows. A distressed or vintage texture, popular for ranch shirts, prints well because the worn look is built into the artwork rather than added afterward.
Direct-to-film suits full color art, such as a watercolor of the orchard or a photo of the home place, and short runs where separate screens for many colors would not make sense. It reproduces fine detail on a tee that embroidery and a simple screen print cannot.
One limit to know. We make t-shirts, long sleeve tees, tank tops, polos, hoodies, hats and beanies. We do not make canvas work jackets, bib overalls, aprons or snap front western shirts. A stitched hat and a printed hoodie are what we offer to sit alongside those.
Stocking a Stand or a Market Table
Tell us what you grow, when your season opens and roughly how many pieces you have in mind. We will quote the run and tell you plainly how the timing looks.
Selling Custom Farm Shirts at the Stand or Market
Customers at a farm stand are buying a connection to a place. Custom farm shirts sell when they feel like a souvenir of that place rather than a staff uniform. The same logo can do both jobs, but the garment and color choices for the shelf should be made for the customer.
Softer fabrics and earthy colors suit the retail side. Sage, oatmeal, faded blue, rust and cream sit naturally next to produce and look good in the photos visitors post afterward. Keep the heavy dark work tee for the crew, where stains and durability matter more than drape.
Give the place name real weight in the design. Visitors from an hour away want the valley, the county or the town on the shirt as much as the farm name. A crop, an animal or a tractor in simple linework says what you grow without a single extra word.
Start small on sizes. Without sales history, order a modest spread weighted toward the middle sizes, with a few at each end, and note what customers ask for that you do not have. Hats sidestep the whole problem, which is one more reason to lead with them.
Display matters as much as design. A shirt folded in a bin goes unnoticed. One hanging at eye level beside the register, or worn by whoever is weighing the tomatoes, gets asked about. The crew wearing the farm apparel is the best display you have.
Farm Shirt and Hat Questions
Is there a minimum order for custom farm shirts or hats?
No. Order one piece or as many as you need. That makes it easy to try custom farm shirts in a small batch for the crew before stocking the stand. The per-piece price drops as the quantity goes up, and the design studio shows your price at any quantity.
Should our logo be embroidered or printed?
Embroider hats, beanies and polos, and print tees and hoodies. Thread lasts well on a cap and gives a farm logo a classic look. Ink holds finer detail and suits larger designs on a shirt. It is common to use both methods, with the same logo adapted for each.
Our logo is a hand painted sign. Can you work from that?
Yes. Send a straight-on photo taken in good light. We clean up or redraw rough logos so they print and stitch well, keeping the hand made character where the method allows. You see the result on a proof and approve it before anything is made. Expect some simplifying for the hat.
Will a detailed logo fit on a trucker hat?
Often not at full detail. The front panel is small and thread is thick, so tiny lettering and fine linework close up. The usual fix is a simplified hat version with the farm name and one bold element. Your full artwork can still be printed large on custom farm shirts, where there is room.
How far ahead of market season should we order?
Standard turnaround is about 14 days from the day you approve the proof, and settling artwork beforehand takes its own time. Starting a month or more before your first market leaves room to breathe. If a date is tight, ask. Sometimes it can be done faster, and we will tell you honestly.
What sizes should we stock for a farm stand?
Without sales history, keep the spread modest and weighted toward the middle sizes, with a few at each end. Write down every request you cannot fill and adjust the next order. Since there is no minimum, a small second order of custom farm shirts in the sizes that sold out is easy to arrange.
Do you ship to rural addresses?
Yes. The shop is in Fort Collins, Colorado, and orders ship across the United States, including farms and ranches well outside town. Give whichever address already receives your parcel deliveries reliably, whether that is the farm itself or a place in town.
Can we order hats now and add shirts later?
Yes. Starting with a hat is a sensible way to test your logo and see what your market thinks of it. When you are ready, the same artwork goes onto ranch shirts, hoodies or beanies, each with its own proof. Every order follows the same standard turnaround of about 14 days from proof approval.
