Design Your Own Hat, Your Logo On The Front Panel
Design your own hat and see it on the actual cap before you order. Truckers, snapbacks, fitted caps, and beanies, with your logo stitched on the front panel where people read it.
Every custom hat order gets a stitch-out proof first. You approve the embroidery before a single cap runs.
Design Your Own Hat Below
Start on a classic trucker, drop your logo on the front panel, and set your count. Custom hat pricing updates as you go.
What Fits On A Hat Front Panel
A hat gives you far less room than a shirt. A standard front panel takes an embroidered logo about two to two and a half inches tall, and everything in your design has to survive at that size.
Wordmarks usually work. Detailed crests, thin outlines, and small taglines usually need simplifying. We tell you which before we stitch rather than after, so you are not looking at a box of caps with an unreadable logo on them.
| Best blank for a custom hat | A structured six-panel trucker with a mesh back. The shape people already own and the easiest group buy. |
|---|---|
| Embroidery size on the front panel | Roughly 2 to 2.5 inches tall. Fine detail below about a millimeter does not hold. |
| Typical custom hat order | Crew and staff orders run 12 to 72. Retail and event runs sit higher. |
| Patch or direct stitch | Direct embroidery for clean logos. A woven patch for fine detail and full color. |
| Turnaround | About 14 days from the day you approve the stitch-out proof. |
Trucker, Snapback, Fitted, Or Beanie
The classic six-panel trucker with a mesh back is the shape most people already own, and it is the safest choice when you are buying for a group with different head sizes. A snapback closure covers almost everyone.
A stretch-band fitted cap sits closer and reads sharper, but you are committing to a size range. Flat-bill five-panels give embroidery a taller front panel to work with. Beanies are their own thing entirely and stitch beautifully.

Custom Patch Hats
Design your own hat with a woven patch. Fine detail and full color that direct stitching cannot hold.

Bucket Hats
A different shape with the same logo. Popular for outdoor brands and summer events.

Custom Beanies
Cold-weather version of the same order. Stitches cleanly and sells all winter.

Why Olive Branch Apparel
Two and a half inches to work with
A front panel is small. We tell you whether your logo holds at that size before we stitch it, not after the box arrives.
Nobody has to send a size
A snapback fits nearly everyone, which makes hats the easiest group order there is.
Patch or direct stitch
Direct embroidery for clean shapes. A woven patch when your artwork has fine detail or a lot of color in it.
You see the stitch first
A sewn sample goes to you before the run, not a computer rendering of one. Caps are unforgiving at that size and this is where problems surface.
Embroidery Or A Woven Patch
Direct embroidery stitches straight into the cap. It is the standard, it lasts as long as the hat, and it suits logos with clean shapes and a limited color count.
A woven patch is made separately and sewn on. It handles fine detail and lots of color that direct embroidery cannot, and it gives the hat a deliberate, made-on-purpose look. Patch hats have become the default for food trucks and outdoor brands for exactly that reason.
Ordering Custom Hats For A Group
Hats are the easiest group order there is because sizing barely matters. A snapback or an adjustable closure fits nearly everyone, so you are not collecting a size run from thirty people before you can place the order.
That also makes them the safest thing to over-order slightly. Leftover shirts sit in a size nobody wants. Leftover hats fit the next person who walks in.
Why A Custom Cap Outlasts Everything Else You Print
Measured by how often the thing gets worn, a custom hat is the best value in branded apparel. A shirt goes into a rotation with twenty other shirts. A cap somebody likes gets worn most days for years, which means your logo is out in public an order of magnitude more often for a similar unit cost.
Hats also skip the two things that make apparel orders painful. There is no size run to collect, and there is almost no dead stock, because a leftover snapback fits whoever walks in next. A leftover 3XL tee sits in a box.
The trade is design room. You are working inside a front panel a few inches across, so the logos that succeed on caps are the ones that were already simple. If yours is not, a woven patch buys back most of the detail you would otherwise lose.
Not sure your logo will hold at hat size?
Send it over. We will tell you straight whether it works or what needs simplifying.
Design Your Own Hat Questions
How big can a logo be on a hat?
About two to two and a half inches tall on a standard front panel, and a little more on a five-panel with a flat bill. Everything in the design has to survive at that size, which is why we check before stitching rather than after.
Do I need everyone's hat size before I order?
Almost never. A snapback or adjustable closure covers nearly every adult head, which is what makes custom caps the least painful group order there is.
What is the difference between an embroidered hat and a patch hat?
Direct embroidery stitches into the cap itself and suits clean shapes with a limited color count. A woven patch is made separately and sewn on, which handles fine detail and full color that direct stitching cannot hold.
Can you match our exact brand color in thread?
Close, not exact. Thread comes in fixed colors, so we pick the nearest match and show it to you on the stitch-out proof before the run. If the match matters, a woven patch gives you more control.
What is a normal custom cap order?
Crew and staff orders usually run twelve to seventy-two. Retail and event runs sit higher. One cap is still a real order if that is what you need.
Do you do beanies as well as caps?
Yes. Beanies stitch beautifully and sell all winter, and they ship on the same order as your caps if you want both.
